This is a portrait of a people rather than an individual - the rain captured running in rivulets down a waterproofed hat which partly obscures his roughly shaved face. A portrait where the person is revealed and at the same time concealed and his archetype may be discerned from this composure and clothing

Three nocturnal New Zealand birds investigate a quintessential New Zealand Villa. An inquisitive Morepork (Ruru), gets very close, while the Kiwi and Kea hesitate outside the picket fence. The warm light from the window illuminate the wooden floors and manicured lawn.

A freezing worker literally holds a calves life in his hands, a focus on our consumer production line. This painting was a finalist in the Adams Portrait Awards and was subsequently chosen to travel the country in a touring exhibition.

Delves into the masculinity of the stockman and his rough exterior - complete with oilskin coat, hat and battered shed. Scratch the surface to reveal hidden depths for these stoic characters.

Worn

A Kereru (NZ wood pigeon) dressed with an army helmet and an ammo belt, points his claw at the viewer in a parody of the World War  recruiting posters. A narrative on the help needed to make NZ predator free. 
Designed as a war poster for Pestfree New Zealand.  Kaipatiki Pest division on the North Shore used it for their advertising.
